I can’t quite believe I’ve had the beautiful Tom Ford Nude Dip Eyeshadow Quad for about eight months and have never dedicated a blog post to it and it’s utter shimmery perfection.
I’d mentioned to my boyfriend before that Tom Ford was in my eyes the most luxurious makeup brand to exist amongst all of the other designer makeup heaven. He’d seen me swatch the eyeshadow quads in store and totally fan girl over Nude Dip, not that I thought he paid any attention. But as a graduation present he only went and splashed out on it for me, because he knew how much I loved it, (cute boyfriends do exist I promise). It just so happened to be the most sought after product, not to mention most unobtainable, on my wishlist that I never thought I’d ever have in my own beauty collection.
I’ll admit, it’s not one I use often, purely because it looks like pure velvet and I just want to keep it forever and ever, plus it’s Tom Ford, duhh. I did take these photos when it was brand new and it definitely doesn’t look like that now, bye bye pretty embossed TF’s, I’ll miss you dearly. I think it hurt my heart to first swatch it as much as it probably did for my boyfriend to fork out £64 for it, eek. It does come with a chic little velvet pouch to preserve the palette, which I do actually use because I would be pretty distraught if I ever scratched the sleek black and gold casing.
The shadows themselves are b-e-a-u-tiful, they’re so smooth, pigmented and easy to blend, which is great but I wouldn’t have expected any less considering the price. The shades are super shimmery and just all over gorgeous. There is a beautiful creamy highlight colour which has a pale gold hue to it, a pretty champagne pink, a cool beige toned brown and a deeper chocolatey maroon brown. Perfect neutral shades which when put together look lovely. The only thing it lacks is a matte shade, which isn’t totally essential, but is useful if you like to use matte shades for a transition and to help the colours blend. Although I wouldn’t know which shade to swap for a matte as they are all too pretty!
Have you tried any Tom Ford?
