Too Faced recently killed off the eyeshadow game for every other brand with their gorgeous new Natural Love Eyeshadow Palette, aka. the mother of all neutral palettes. The floral packaging with the little bunnies and birds is so romantic and beautiful, and the names of the shades are so flippin’ cute I just can’t deal. Bunny Nose, Kittens, Pink Cheeks, Fairy Tale, umm sorry but you can’t tell me that isn’t all kinds of adorable. ‘Cos it is.
The colour range is a dreamy selection of soft pinks, milky browns and golden bronzes and is what initially enticed me to spend a pretty penny. I’d use every single shade at some point, it’s a neutral lovers dream! If you are a Too Faced fan you may already spot some of the shades from previous palettes. Heaven, Nudie, Push-Up, Honey Pot and Chocolate Martini can all be found in the Natural Eyes palette! If you like the look of the Natural Love palette but don’t want to commit to the splurge, this one would be a great alternative, it’s a beautiful little palette and was one of my first makeup loves. Satin Sheets can also be found in both the Boudoir Eyes palette and the Chocolate Bon Bons. So although there are a few repeats, the vast majority of the shades are new.
Eight of the thirty shades are matte and I was surprisingly super impressed with every single one. It’s so nice to see a palette with really pigmented, creamy matte shades as more often than not it can be the matte shades that let a palette down, but not here, I cannot fault the quality of them! I’ve included Pink Cheeks as a matte shade, although it does have a very subtle shimmer running through it. My favourite matte shades are Honey Butter which is a gorgeous warm caramel brown, perfect as a transition, and Makeup & Chill which is a lovely deep chocolate brown.
The stand out shimmer shades for me are:
♥ Moonbeam; a beautiful pale silvery gold
♥ Cutie Patootie; a rosey golden peach
♥ Kittens; a cool toned lilac pink with a gold reflex
♥ Satin Sheets; a champage rose gold
♥ Push-Up; a gorgeous bronze
♥ Honey Pot; a perfect gold
♥ Love Bug; a purple taupe
♥ Coffee Date; a warm coppery bronze
♥ Dear Diary; a frosty golden bronze
All have that great ‘one swipe’ pigmentation and look so shimmery and beautiful!
The shades I did find to be iffy were Tickle Me, Honeymoon, Fingers Crossed and especially Fairy Tale. I say this as they have more of a glittery formula, so when applied with a brush the pigmentation is a little lacking and the fall out can be a bit of a nightmare. However I then tried them with MAC Fix + to see if I could get any use out of them and they completely transformed! So if you don’t mind wetting your brush to get the most out of your eyeshadows then you will be fine, I actually do this all the time with shimmery eyeshadow shades as it intensifies the pigment and makes them more metallic. Night Fever is a little patchy however, and Stiletto isn’t quite the deep intense black you might hope it to be, but it’s not too bad once built up.
If you’re expecting something a little different from your classic Chocolate Bar, Naked palette etc. then this probably isn’t for you. But ultimately if you are a neutral eyeshadow lover like myself, you will adore this palette, forgiving the few dodgy glittery shades.
