It’s the final day of 2017 as I’m typing this and I’m wondering where on Earth that year went, ‘cos I don’t know about you but it absolutely flew by! As each year draws to a close, I always see heaps of tweets and statuses from people who thoroughly hated the last twelve months and are eagerly anticipating January to start afresh, but actually I’ve had a pretty sweet year as they go, and as much as I’m excited to see what’s in store for the new year, I’ll be sad to see 2017 leave.
I started a YouTube channel in October which was such a huge risk for me as I can be quite a shy person, so putting myself out on the Internet is definitely more than scary, but I’m so so thankful to everyone that has been so lovely about it. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to post as many videos as I would’ve liked, but hopefully that will change in the new year!
In November I took a little trip to the beautiful city of Paris and saw so many beautiful sights and pretty places including the most gorgeous Marie Antoinette themed tea room (read more about it here). I also vlogged my trip which is definitely my favourite video so far!
I recently invested in a new camera and lens to go with it, and I’m so glad I took the risk and splurged as I’m in love with some of the shots I’ve been taking with it, although there’s always room for improvement!
I’ve also seen my cake business expand more than I ever thought, to the point where my head hasn’t reached my pillow until early hours of the morning and I’ve more than stressed myself out, but it’s ultimately been worth it! I have my own separate Instagram page for my cakes here, and I’ve loved so many of my creations this year, but some favourites include these Cinderella themed cupcakes, this magical princess castle cake, this candyfloss dream cake that I made for my birthday, as well as this pink girly unicorn cake which has been my most popular design!
