I surprisingly found it super easy this year to pick out the crème de la crème of 2017’s discoveries from my beauty stash. I usually find it a little hard to whittle down a huge collection of favourites, but this time around there were products that were that good, that I just knew had to make this post. Y’know those special items that you don’t even have to root around your collection for, as they’re already out on your dressing table ready to use on a daily basis.
I still adore my Estee Lauder Double Wear, Charlotte Tilbury Powder and Laura Geller Charming Pink Highlighter to name a few, but these are the beauties that were new discoveries to me during 2017 and ultimately shot straight to the top of my favourites list. Just a pre warning that this post may be a little Charlotte Tilbury heavy, but honestly it was the brand I was fortunate enough to try the most new products from last year, and almost every product I try just blows me away!

Earlier on in 2017 I went as far as to say that the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow* might possibly be my favourite makeup product ever! Whilst I’m not quite ready to commit to that bold statement as there are way too many products fighting for that top spot, it’s certainly a product I totally adored from the get-go. It gives a gorgeous lit from within kind of radiance and makes my foundation apply so beautifully!
Another product that I fell completely and utterly head over heels for last year was the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream* and I’ve been meaning to confess my love for it on here for far too long. It’s a super nourishing moisturiser, packed full of amazing ingredients, and provides an instant boost for dull and dehydrated skin. It gives the skin a gorgeous luminosity and I can totally understand why Charlotte named it her Magic Cream, because it really is just that. I love using it just before I apply my makeup as it creates a perfect canvas for base products to sit upon.
The Charlotte Tilbury Valentine Lipstick has truly been my absolute favourite lipstick during 2017 to the point where I sadly only have a teeny bit left. It’s such a pretty soft pink shade that I find really flattering on my skin tone, and the formula is so lovely and creamy, but still sticks around for a really decent amount of time. I can’t tell you how gutted I am that it’s now sold out on the website, I’m kicking myself for not buying a back-up *sob*. Read my full review here.

I definitely upped my fake tan game during 2017, and whilst I’ll still never be someone with the patience to keep up being a golden goddess 24/7, I came to love doing it for special occasions or simply when I fancied not resembling Casper the Ghost. One thing I disliked about tanning in previous years was having a super pale face compared to my tanned body, as I’ve tried applying tan to my face before and it’s always broken me out. This is where the Charlotte Tilbury Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask* steps in. It’s a self tanning mask specifically designed for your face, which you apply and leave on overnight. Not only does it add the most gorgeous natural tan, but my skin never looks more healthy and radiant than the day after I’ve used this! And no break-outs, yay!
Up next is the Too Faced Hangover Setting Spray, a coconut water infused mist that primes, sets makeup and refreshes skin. Personally I prefer using it only to set my makeup as opposed to priming, because I feel like that’s where it truly works its magic. I find it super refreshing, and once it starts to dry you can really feel it locking makeup into place. The actual pump itself is excellent as it sprays as a super fine mist and targets quite a large area which I love… and of course the ombre pink bottle is adorable!

A staple product amongst my skincare favourites has been the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist for such a long time, it’s a lightweight mist that contains all sorts of lovely, natural ingredients such as rose extract, marshmallow, aloe vera and grapefruit seed, which all help to restore, soothe and hydrate. It’s such a lovely refreshing product which leaves my skin feeling glowy and it has a beautiful, delicate rose scent. So when I received their limited edition Deluxe Intense* version I was super excited. Not only is it an amped up version of a product I already adore, but that packaging is stunning too and I love keeping it displayed on my dressing table as it’s to pretty to hide away.

Whilst I couldn’t quite remember when I discovered the Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Primer, a quick scroll of my blog revealed it was actually late 2015 and I am so shocked it’s been that long, so this one’s the only non 2017 discovery (oops!). However it has been a firm staple in my makeup bag over the past year and I use it almost every day. Not only does it blur pores and imperfections, but it creates a lovely smooth base for foundation, it helps my makeup stay on longer and mattifies my complexion without making my skin dry. I generally only apply it to my t-zone but it’s a really great all-rounder and definitely one worth checking out.
The Ted Baker Mia Perfume* is a fragrance I fell for instantly! It’s a glamorous, soft floral scent which blends top notes of lemon, raspberry and blackcurrant with base notes of patchouli and golden amber. It’s romantic but sophisticated and just the type of fragrance that I am drawn to. I blogged about all of the Ted Baker Sweet Treats fragrances here.

Blusher is one of those staple items that I feel like you can never have too many of, and whilst I’ve loved a fair few during 2017, one of my most worn has to be the Ciate London Glow-To Illuminating Blush. It’s a baked blush with a glowy highlight running throughout it, a little like my favourite Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes, which gives an added radiance to the cheeks as well as a pop of colour. You can totally still sweep highlight on too, but it just gives a boost compared to a regular matte blush. I absolutely loved this during Summer time, as it just makes you look super healthy and glowing. The shade I have is called Pinch Me, which is a lovely soft peach. Here’s hoping they release a pretty pink shade!

I don’t talk about haircare products on here all too often, because in all honestly it wasn’t something I ever invested in, and for the most part I only used basic products that didn’t really leave much of an impression on me. But back in August, my long blonde hair had taken more than a beating from bleaching and frequent use of heat tools, and after feeling pretty deflated about it I decided it was time to completely change up my haircare routine. So I’ve since spent time and money finding the best products for my hair, and have religiously stuck to a haircare routine that has totally transformed the quality of my hair. The L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil is the only affordable haircare product I use in my routine, dry shampoo aside, and has also been one of my favourites. It makes your hair feel so silky soft like no other hair oil I’ve tried, and leaves zero trace of product or greasiness. It’s that good that I’ve gotten others hooked on this too!

The pink theme is just so pretty! I totally relate with you on the hair care thing, I never really invested too much in it because my hair isn’t high maintenance and nothing has really impressed me all that much. The L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil sounds really nice though!

Oh thank you so much! Yeah it’s strange really seeing as I invest far too much money on makeup haha, so why not my hair too? I’ve definitely seen so much improvement though so I guess for the most part it’s worth the money, although I do love the L’Oreal Oil which is really affordable! xo

Ooh you’ve mentioned soo many goodies here! I’m hoping to try out more from Charlotte Tilbury this year and I really want the TF Hangover Primer – although the setting spray sounds perfect too! That Ted Baker perfume sounds beautiful as well xo
