I adore vintage French furniture, and I spent months searching for the perfect dressing table to match the rest of the pieces in my bedroom. As soon as I locked eyes on this princessy Parisian style dressing table I fell in love! It’s so pretty and feminine with gorgeous carved details, a bevelled edge mirror and an antique white finish. The definition of perfection! I have it in the corner of my bedroom and as I spend lots of time here getting ready (more than I should probably admit…) I really wanted it to be a space I can enjoy sitting at, so I like to have lots of my favourite pretty products out on display where I can see them and reach for them. The lighting in my bedroom is pretty rubbish so I’ve had to get over my fear of bad lighting for these photos, I tried my best!
On the top of my vanity I keep my vintage hand held mirror, the prettiest pink Kate Spade candle, my pink Princess Vibes makeup bag from SLMissGlam, which is so roomy it’s actually really surprising, as well as my mini box of everlasting roses and an artificial rose bouquet in my ditsy rose kilner jar from Ryle Style Craft. I also have a couple of trinket dishes from Miss Etoile and Kikki K that I use to place my everyday jewellery items and false eyelashes. I think that adding a couple of books, flowers and little trinket dishes can help to break it up a little so it doesn’t just look like product after product.
I like to keep out some favourite beauty products including the Too Faced Hangover Primer, Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist, Dior Lip Glow and a selection of my best loved perfumes. I also like to display products that are new to me, especially those that have particularly pretty packaging like the gorgeous Too Faced Diamond Highlighter, as it gives me a chance to use them and I can stare at them in awe (just kidding… not really).
In keeping with the princess vibes, I also like to pop all of my favourite pretty pink products inside the drawers, because as sad as it is, it does make my heart happy to have everything be aesthetically pleasing! I like to mix it up every now and then by taking some things out to display, or by adding other things into the draw as I find I reach for products more when I’m at my dressing table, than from my actual makeup storage which is in a different room.
