I woke up this morning and decided to put together a little round-up of everything that’s been lovely lately. If you’re a long time reader of my blog you’ll remember when I did monthly photo diaries, which I kept up for almost two years! Even though I haven’t written one for a long while, I do still love to share more lifestyle posts and I thought now would be the perfect time for a pretty little catch up!
At the end of May it was my birthday and I turned 25, eek! I had a lovely chilled day with croissants for breakfast and was treated to dinner at The Ivy in the evening. My boyfriend surprised me with a pair of gorgeous Miu Miu sunglasses that I’d been lusting after for forever, perfect timing for all of this beautiful sunshine we’ve been having. They come in the prettiest pink velvet case too, which looks so dreamy! I didn’t make myself a birthday cake this year even though I had planned to, but as I’m constantly making cakes each week for my cake business it can get very tiring, and continually cleaning the kitchen for sure isn’t fun, so I decided to just relax instead. Although I did whip up some pink and white chocolate covered strawberries!
All of my cotton candy ice cream dreams were fulfilled when I visited London’s Milk Train Cafe. Ohh my gosh, they sell the most perfectly presented soft serve ice cream in waffle cones, with delicious toppings and a fluffy cloud of sweet candy floss surrounding it. It’s the dreamiest, cutest ice cream you ever did see! I chose the cookies and cream flavour which had Oreo cookies, chocolate shavings and chocolate sauce, and there is a cone underneath it all too I swear! It’s a little messy, but totally worth it.
In the height of peony season I picked up a couple of bunches of the most beautiful peonies I’ve ever seen, whilst in M&S. They were the most perfect shade of soft blush pink, and they looked so stunning once they’d fully blossomed, although I do think they looked just as pretty before they’d bloomed too! Don’t you think that closed peonies look like little scoops of strawberry ice cream or is that just me?! I think peonies have now shot to first place as my favourite flowers, it’s a shame they only bloom for a short time each year! M&S honestly do the best flowers though, they look gorgeous and are always long lasting.
Whilst in Harrods a few weeks ago, we stopped off for some princessy sweet treats in Ladurée. The parlour is stocked full of delectable Parisian pastries and rows of pastel coloured macarons. I had a Pistachio Saint-Honoré with a latte and also shared some sweet rose and vanilla macarons, which are my favourites! I always feel like Marie Antoinette whenever I visit Ladurée, it’s Parisian confectionery at it’s finest!
Whoever is on the PR team for Jo Malone definitely needs a raise, because their marketing recently has been so perfect! Whilst I was in Covent Garden I spotted this pretty ombre pink Jo Malone van, bursting with pretty blooms, and it had formed quite the crowd of people wanting to snap a pretty picture of it! Equally as beautiful was the Harrods display window for Jo Malone, with rows of giant bottles of their classic perfumes sat amongst a collection of tall pink flower pots. I thought it was so pretty I had to stop and capture it!
I hope you’ve been having a wonderful time in the sunshine!
