It certainly won’t come as any huge shock when I say that I have a little bit of an affinity for pretty, girly places and patisseries, and I have a list as long as my arm that I’d like to visit, with blogger hotspot Élan Cafe at the top. So naturally I was excited when I finally managed to pop in and see it in all it’s beauty for myself! We stayed in Notting Hill for the weekend and decided to visit the Élan Cafe on Brompton Road for breakfast, taking a sunny stroll through the beautiful Kensington Palace Gardens on our way there.
The cafe has soared in popularity since it opened it’s doors last summer, and I mean I’d be pretty surprised if you hadn’t scrolled past a picture of it’s floral walls and decorative dishes on Instagram. So of course the bar had been set high for my expectations but I definitely wasn’t disappointed. The cafe is a visual dream! Beautiful flower walls? Check. Pretty pink seating? Check. Fancy marble tables? Check. A flippin’ cherry blossom tree? Umm check! Food that looks almost too pretty to eat? Naturally! The distinctive decor is utterly gorgeous with a soft pastel colour palette, pretty pinks, pops of blue and floor to ceiling florals, making it super feminine, stylish and bang on trend.
I’ve heard of it getting super busy with queues outside to get a table, so I was a little wary as to what it would be like on a Saturday. We got there around 10am and luckily there were only a few customers about so I was able to snap photos of all of the pretty decor to my hearts content! Even the two prime tables at the flower wall were free so if you were hoping to dine in the cafe’s best seats, and let’s face it be able to get that perfect Instagram shot, then arriving early is the way to go.
We had a breakfast of omelette, poached eggs, croissants and caffè lattes, which were all perfectly presented even down to the cute little cucumber rolls and dainty garnishes. There was also a whole table top full of pastries, cakes and sweet treats which looked so yummy, and totally gives me an excuse to return, right?!
Have you visited Élan Cafe yet?
