It’s no secret that I’m a huge lover of Charlotte Tilbury’s magical beauty products, and I’ve been the biggest fan girl of her makeup and skincare range on this little old blog over the years. Not only is Charlotte herself a master makeup artist and the Queen of achieving glowy goddess skin, but she also puts so much passion and dedication into formulating her products and making sure that they are infused with lots of skincare friendly ingredients. So when she gave us sneak peeks of the new Hollywood Flawless Filter, you know it had my attention in an instant – even before I knew what it did!
Whilst it may look similar to a foundation from a quick glance, and you do have to choose a skin tone shade (I have shade 1 Fair), it’s most defintely not a foundation. It’s described as a ‘customisable complexion booster with the versatility of a primer, mega watt glow a highlighter and perfecting properties of your favourite digital filter‘. The ingredients help to illuminate the skin whilst smoothing over fine lines, giving a dreamy soft focus effect. It’s essentially dewy, healthy, glowy, star-lit skin in a bottle, which lifts, brightens and airbrushes the complexion.
It really is magic and gives such a lovely healthy glow to the areas that you place it. You can use it as a primer to give full illumination to your skin and a infuse a dewy effect into your foundation. Whether you apply it all over or dotted in certain areas is up to you and how much glow you’d like, I have an oily skin type so using it all over would be too much for me. I personally prefer to apply it over the top of my foundation, to the areas that I would usually apply highlight, like the tops of my cheekbones etc. and it really does give off the illusion of perfected smooth skin that’s healthy and glowing, without any shimmer or looking like you’ve really used any product at all! It’s like a secret weapon for a good skin day. Perfect for those no-makeup makeup days or for adding a boost to your usual beauty routine, if you apply your regular shimmery highlighter over the top of it, it makes it look 1000x more magical!
