A Pretty Little Catch Up
Hello princesses, who remembers when I used to share monthly photo diary posts on this little old blog of mine? Well I’ve been toying with the idea of bringing them back! I do love sharing more lifestyle content so I’ve decided to create The Pink Diaries as a sparkling, enhanced replacement full of everything that’s been lovely lately, and all the pretty things I’ve been loving during the past month. There will also be a free pink quote for you to save at the end of the post!
I was requested to create a darling pink Marie cake, who we all know is one of my favourite little Disney characters, so I knew I wanted it to be girly, pretty and magical! The outcome was a classic vanilla sponge cake, iced with pink vanilla buttercream, topped with a white chocolate drip and decorated with pink and white hearts, pretty pearls and of course Marie perched in the centre. I adored the finished result and I loved that the theme gave me free reign to make it as pink and feminine as I wanted! I also made a batch of Marie cupcakes to match ~ I have a tutorial on them here if you fancy.
I couldn’t resist a couple of sweet spring scents from the gorgeous new Yankee Candle Sunday Brunch collection. I chose Sweet Morning Rose which has a dreamy combination of sparkling rose water, sugared rose petal, powdery musk and marshmallow, it smells like iced cupcakes and roses! I also chose Blush Bouquet which contains notes of cherry blossom, peony, sweet pea, lily and amber, it’s like a fresh spring day when the cherry trees have blossomed. They smell gorgeous and even though I am saving them for spring I can’t wait to start using them, how gorgeous would they be burning in the morning next to a bouquet of fresh peonies! Also in the range are scents called Floral Candy and Belgian Waffles which sound utterly delicious.
The perfect way to brighten a dull month? Treat yourself to something beautiful that you’ve wanted for a long time! I splurged on a box of luxury Infinity Roses and from the moment I opened the parcel and lifted the lid on them I was just utterly in love, they are so gorgeous and everything I had anticipated. The pretty pink satin box is complete with a silky pink ribbon and filled with an array of beautiful white everlasting roses, making them truly fit for a princess. Whilst they may be pricey, I don’t regret a single penny spent, they last for at least a year and they just look so stunning on my vanity.
At the end of December I took a little trip to Victoria’s Secret and they just have everything to make you feel like a pretty princess. I’m always heart eyed over all of the pink satin robes, lacey underwear and dreamy perfumes, and when I spotted these adorable pink slippers adorned with plush pink velvet bows I had to have them. They are so cute and girly, and feel ohhhh so soft and cosy.
I thought that it would be a nice idea to start our own hashtag on Instagram for everyone to share their pretty pink princessy posts, so I dreamed up My Pink Fairytale. It’s a lovely way to find more beautiful imagery and discover pretty accounts sprinkled with pink magic, I’m just so shocked at the positive response it’s had! I’ve been doing a Sunday share on my Instagram story with 20 of my favourite photos from #MyPinkFairytale each week, and I’ve been loving scrolling through seeing everyones lovely photos, it’s made me enjoy Instagram again.
Pink & Cosy
Film: Mary Poppins Returns ~ I finally watched the long awaited sequel with my mum, sister and little niece who was really excited for pic’n’mix sweets and Disney films at the cinema. The Cherry Tree Lane set looked beautiful with an abundance of pretty pink blossoms and Emily Blunt was totally perfect in the starring role. It was visually stunning and I especially loved the fair ground scene towards the end with the candy striped tents, carousels and pastel coloured balloons.
Song: 7 Rings, Ariana Grande ~ anything that successfully remixes My Favourite Things from The Sound Of Music gets a yes from me! ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s and bottles of bubbles‘…
TV Show: The Marvelous Mrs Maisel ~ A show that I couldn’t stop watching from start to end! The plot centres around a 1950s New York housewife who discovers a talent for stand-up comedy, which certainly isn’t without its many set backs for a woman during that time period. Everything is perfect from the gorgeous outfits, vintage style sets and amazing acting. I just adore the sparkle and charm of New York City in the 1950s!
Blog Post: Manuela Kjeilen of Passion For Baking shared her new Kitchen Studio Tour and it’s a pretty pastel dream with pink and white striped walls, white tiles, pink equipment and everything a baker could ever wish for!
Beauty Item: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk collection ~ the ever coveted rosey toned range came back in stock and I couldn’t wait to purchase the eyeshadow palette and blush, the shades are just so feminine and pretty, lookout for a review on the blog really soon.
In My Wardrobe: Joanie Clothing Lipstick Jumper & Ciao Jumper ~ I splurged on these two pretty pink pieces back in December and I love the cute and quirky designs. The fit is really lovely and I’ve had lots of compliments on them!
Last Purchase: Ciaté London Amazing Gracie nail polish ~ a pretty pale nude pink adorned with a ribbon on the bottle.
Sweet Treat: Mr Kipling Pink French Fancies.
Heart Eyed Over: A dreamy bar of Miss Dior Silky Soap, these cute Ted Baker Pink Embroidered Jeans & this beautiful Blush Pink Rose Bath Mat
Dreaming Of: A breakfast of croissants and fresh coffee on a Parisian balcony, overlooking the Eiffel Tower.
Looking Forward To: Hearts, flowers and romantic things during Valentines.
