love, sweet love
I had the sweetest time visiting the Peggy Porschen parlour during the most romantic time of the year this February. As hearts, flowers and all things sweet are Peggy’s speciality, I couldn’t think of a more perfect place to let love blossom over a cake date on Valentine’s Day! The Love Letter display looked oh so pretty like Cupid’s very own romantic version of the North Pole, sitting in a cloud of pink for sweethearts to send their love letters and share a cute cupcake or two.
let love blossom
The pink parlour had well and truly been struck by Cupid’s arrow, transforming it into a beautiful sight of modern romance for Peggy’s Love Letter display. The sugary pink palace was adorned with a blossoming cascade of flowers and golden leaves, and in the entrance stood a darling pink post box for declarations of love and sweet sentiments. An array of delicate hearts hung by satin ribbons, and giant love letters flourished in the windows, written by one of the greatest romantic couples in classic literature; Romeo & Juliet, as well as in English Royal History; Queen Victoria & Prince Albert. The dreamy display was a true delight for any hopeless romantic.
sealed with a kiss
We sat inside sheltered from the rain, and choose to try the seasonal specials that had been sprinkled with Saint Valentine’s charm. Peggy’s classic strawberry and champagne cupcake had been given a little makeover by Cupid into the Romantic Rose cupcake. It came topped with a trio of glistening pink roses, a swirl of pink champagne cream cheese frosting and infused with Marc de Champagne syrup ~ one of my favourite flavours from the parlour and I absolutely adore this pretty design! Also on the seasonal menu was the Sealed With A Kiss cupcake, which had a decadent chocolate and raspberry flavour and was topped with an adorable sugared wax seal, a romantic rose petal and pretty sprinkles.
hearts aflutter
No cold winter’s day is complete without a cup of hot chocolate to keep you warm and cosy, ever better when presented in a pretty pink mug! In true Peggy’s style they came with sprinkled with whimsical powdered chocolate hearts and kisses, and fresh mini marshmallows on the side.
love you more
Gracing the shelves were a selection of heart shaped chocolates and iced sugar cookies in shapes of lovehearts, mini post boxes and sweet envelopes. In keeping with the theme I took home a darling Love Letter sugar cookie which was embossed with a heartfelt message, and tied with a pretty pink satin ribbon.
I hope you had a special Valentine’s Day!
