Makeover
your iPhone
I recently discovered a really easy way to create a super cute looking iPhone home screen, which allows you to customise your app icons and prettify your phone to your hearts content! It’s quick, safe, and doesn’t require you to risk jailbreaking your phone. I added a photo of mine on my Instagram story and I had so many messages about it! So of course I wanted to share with you how to do it too.
The magic is done by using the app ‘Shortcuts‘ which actually comes with the iPhone. Essentially what it does is it creates a new icon for your home screen that shortcuts to any app that you set for it. You can use any photos that you’d like to use as the icon image, I chose to use all of my own pretty pink photos, as well as a cute graphic set from Haute Glam Design that also features on my blog homepage. Check out my Pinterest for some girly pink photo inspiration you can use!
follow these
simple steps
~ Open the Shortcuts app and tap the ‘+‘ in the top right hand corner. This will bring you to the ‘New Shortcut‘ page. Tap the trio of dots in the top right hand corner.
~ Add your shortcut name and click ‘add to home screen‘. Tap on the icon and click ‘choose photo‘ to add your own image from your camera roll. Add the name you’d like it to show as on your home screen, if you’d like to get the pretty script font I used the website IGFonts.io. You simply type in your text, copy your favourite font and paste it in as the shortcut name.
~ Once you’ve added a photo and name, tap ‘Add‘ in the top right hand corner. Then click ‘Done‘ which will bring you to your newly created shortcut page. Click ‘Add Action‘ and search for ‘Open App‘ in the search bar and click the ‘Open App’ icon. Then choose the app you’d like it to link to. Press ‘Done’ and it should appear on your home screen!
tah dah!
Hopefully I’ve explained it okay, but of course if you have any questions feel free to message me on Instagram and I’ll be sure to help you out. I’d also love to see how you prettify your own home screens, so do tag me if you’d like and use #mypinkfairytale so we can all get some inspiration! I hope you love creating your own pretty wonderland on your home screens dolls!
